Getting started

Who can use Teyra Pay?

Businesses in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan and Egypt. We onboard individuals, companies and charities.

What documents do I need?

It depends on your business type. Individuals: civil ID (front and back) and a bank letter. Companies: civil ID, commercial licence, commercial register, articles of association, signature authorisation and a bank letter. Charities: licence, board agreement, list of regulations and a bank letter. Your dashboard shows the exact list for your account.

Can I start before my account is approved?

Yes. You get test API keys as soon as you sign up, so you can build and test your integration. Live payments switch on after approval.

Do I need a website?

No. You can send invoices and payment links from the dashboard by email, SMS or WhatsApp, or share the link anywhere.

Does Teyra Pay work with my online store?

The WooCommerce plugin is available now. The Teyra Pay app for Shopify is awaiting Shopify's approval. For any other platform, use the REST API.

Payments

Which payment methods can my customers use?

Visa and Mastercard, mada, KNET, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Benefit and STC Pay. The methods available depend on your country and account setup.

Which currencies are supported?

Kuwaiti dinar, Saudi riyal, UAE dirham, Qatari riyal, Bahraini dinar, Omani rial, Jordanian dinar and Egyptian pound.

Is the checkout available in Arabic?

Yes. Each payment's checkout can be shown in Arabic or English.

Can I refund a payment?

Yes, in full or in part, from the dashboard or the API. You can make more than one partial refund until the full amount is refunded.

Deposits

When do I get paid?

Your balance is deposited to your bank account on a daily, weekly or monthly schedule agreed when your account is approved.

Where can I see my deposits?

In your dashboard, with the amount, date and bank reference of each deposit.

Security and developers

Do card details pass through my website?

No. Customers pay on the Teyra Pay checkout page, where card details go into secure embedded fields and straight to the card processor. 3-D Secure and KNET approval happen at the customer's bank. You receive the payment result with the card brand and last four digits only.

How do I know a payment really succeeded?

Listen for the payment.succeeded webhook and verify its signature, or fetch the payment from the API. Don't rely on the customer's redirect alone.

Can my team share one account?

Yes. Invite teammates with their own roles. Each person signs in with their own login.

How is my dashboard account protected?

Turn on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app. You also get one-time recovery codes to keep somewhere safe, in case you lose your phone.

Are there SDKs?

Node.js and PHP SDKs are being built now. Their guides are at docs.teyra.co/sdks. Until they are released, the REST API works from any language.
